Carla Hall is an award-winning food writer, chef, and television personality. She is the co-host of the popular cooking show The Chew and the author of four cookbooks, including the James Beard Award-winning Soul Food: The Surprising Story of an American Cuisine, One Plate at a Time.

Carla Hall is a graduate of Howard University and the Culinary Institute of America. She has worked as a chef in some of the most prestigious restaurants in the country, including the White House.
